Macaronesia

Macaronesia was born in Lanzarote, amidst the wind, salt and light of the Atlantic. A swimwear brand inspired by nature and the island way of life: free, radiant and connected to the ocean.

Each collection is designed and produced entirely in the Canary Islands. From the artistic inspiration and design of original prints, through to pattern-making, textile sublimation and the tailoring of each garment, the entire creative and production process takes place locally, with a commitment to conscious and locally-sourced production.

The brand works with recycled polyester and certified fabrics, seeking to reduce its impact on the natural environment that inspires it: the sea, the volcanic coastlines and Atlantic biodiversity.

Macaronesia’s prints are born from an artistic perspective on the island landscape: tropical flowers, palm trees, salt, lava and the ocean are transformed into exclusive pieces produced in limited editions.

Behind the brand is Visi González, a Canarian designer and the brand’s creative director, who sees fashion as a way of expressing identity, colour, nature and emotion.

“Calufa” is born from the warmth of the islands. From that intense sensation of the sun on the skin, the warm air that envelops the summer, and the vibrant colours that fill the Atlantic landscape. Inspired by the Canarian culture that gives the collection its name, Macaronesia transforms the essence of the Canarian summer into a collection brimming with light, nature and emotion.

Palm trees, tropical flowers, the ocean and the luminous essence of the Canarian landscape are reinterpreted in exclusive prints designed by the brand, where colour takes centre stage once again. A collection that celebrates the joy of living by the sea and the freedom of an eternal summer.

True to the brand’s essence, “Calufa” is designed and produced entirely in the Canary Islands. From the creation of the prints and patterns to the textile sublimation and the final tailoring of each piece, the entire process takes place locally, championing local production and island talent.
