Nuria González

Nuria González is an undisputed reference in swimwear made in the Canary Islands, and particularly within the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida label, of which she has been part since its beginnings in 1996. Recognized for her commitment to sustainability, artisanal quality, and the cultural identity of the archipelago, she has established herself as one of the most prominent figures in the sector in the region.

A self-taught designer, she has complemented her experience with numerous specialized courses, including corsetry and swimwear pattern making, industrial pattern making, and training with renowned professionals such as Roger Frank Desmond.

One of the key aspects of her work is her local inspiration: nature, flora, fauna, and coastal landscapes, which she transforms into prints for lycra and tulle. She also draws from painting, incorporating works by Canary Islands artists and monotypes created by her mother into her collections.

Each of her runway shows generates great anticipation thanks to her original approach to print design and her bold, innovative staging. Her collections have been presented at national and international fashion fairs such as Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, SIMM, Interfiliere, and the Berlin runway.

Her work has been featured in numerous national and international publications such as Vogue Spain, Glamour, ¡Hola!, Hello!, InStyle, and Woman Madame Figaro. In recognition of her work, she received the Best Sustainable Collection Award 2022 at the 16th edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida.
