Gran Canaria, October 23, 2025

The second day of Gran Canaria Swim Week kicked off this Thursday at the ExpoMeloneras venue, the epicenter of swimwear fashion in every edition.

Isla Bonita Moda (La Palma, Spain), Macaronesia (Lanzarote, Spain), Arena Negra Swimwear (Tenerife, Spain), Lava (Tenerife, Spain), Volcano Blood (Gran Canaria, Spain), Dolores Cortés (Castellón, Spain), Kamilla Velmont (Sweden), Starlite (Marbella, Spain), Diazar (La Palma, Spain), Gogana Swimwear (Seville, Spain), Elena Morales (Gran Canaria, Spain) and GUESS (USA) were the featured brands of the second day of runway shows, presenting their swimwear proposals for the Spring/Summer 2026 season.

Minerva Alonso, Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Craftsmanship of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, stated: “ExpoMeloneras has established itself as the epicenter of swimwear fashion in Europe and as an unparalleled showcase to project Canarian talent to the world. From the Cabildo, we continue to support a sector with enormous potential—one that combines creativity, sustainability and innovation as key drivers of economic development and international projection for the island.

Portuguese content creator and stylist Caetana Botelho became one of the key figures in the front row during the first shows held at ExpoMeloneras. She was joined by content creators Paula Viana of The Backstage Talks and Marta Camin, alongside Canarian creators Amalia Fajardo, Omar Sánchez, Yaiza Mencía, Marta Ibrahim and Priscila Betancort.

Second Day of Runway Shows

On this second day, the runway at ExpoMeloneras opened at 4:00 PM with the shows of Isla Bonita Moda, Macaronesia, Arena Negra Swimwear, and Lava.

Isla Bonita Moda is a platform aimed at promoting creative talent and author-driven fashion on the island of La Palma. Through Sodepal (the Society for Economic and Social Promotion and Development of the Island Council of La Palma), its goal is to highlight the island’s unique character and cultural identity. In this spirit, its latest project emerges from the creative synergy of eight local brands within the program—Adrienne, Alex Menorca, Atelier El Tesoro, Ban, Rayco Plata, Sara Luis Joyas, and Shamelu—who have joined forces to create the collection Agujas de Sal. This collection pays tribute to the art of embroidery in La Palma, and especially to grandmothers, whose dedication has transformed this technique into a true form of expression—a love letter to life.

The runway continued with Macaronesia, a sustainable brand born on the beaches of Lanzarote, inspired by nature, ocean waves, tropical flowers and island living. More than just a swimwear label, Macaronesia represents a lifestyle. From Tenerife, Gisela Tejera presented her brand Arena Negra Swimwear, whose new collection Sunset draws inspiration from the colors of the evening sky. Through screen printing, embroidery and accessories, the collection completes looks ranging from bikinis and swimsuits to accessories and menswear.

Also from Tenerife, the brand Lava dives into Canarian waters for its new collection “Adeyahamen Adeyahamen,” an aboriginal word meaning “underwater.” Designed to move, endure and stand out, the collection pays tribute to the Canary Islands’ sea, staying true to the brand’s founding mission since 2011: to dress athletes with joy and style. This season, garments are filled with prints of local marine fauna, blending sport and aesthetics.

At 5:00 PM, Volcano Blood (Gran Canaria), founded by twin sisters Karen and Sheila, presented their collection “Morena Tropicana, eu quero teu sabor,” —a love letter to the tropics. More than a style statement, it is an invitation to embrace warmth, rhythm and energy. Inspired by countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Jamaica and Colombia, the collection features a fusion of vibrant colors drawn from lush landscapes, golden beaches and multicolored sunsets, combined with tropical patterns evoking wild nature and Caribbean and Latin traditions.

Dolores Cortés once again returned to the Gran Canaria Swim Week runway. With a family tradition spanning over seventy years in women’s swimwear, the brand has become one of the most internationally recognized Spanish labels. Earth, its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, is inspired by natural textures and substrates. Defined by irregular, curved and fluid shapes, it reflects handcrafted techniques that bring emotional depth to each piece.

Swedish designer Kamilla Velmont, presented Amour Oui, a poetic transformation of florals through lace and devotion to craftsmanship. Deeply emotional, the collection draws inspiration from a love of travel, floral poetry and the transformative power of the word “yes.”

Starlite Universe, the fashion line of the Starlite Group—leaders in organizing major music festivals and events—returns to Gran Canaria Swim Week with a proposal that blends quality, innovation, exclusive design and sustainability. Its Spring/Summer 2026 collection reflects the dynamic and elegant style of modern men and women, inspired by the glamour of European cruise wear, offering garments that combine style, comfort and environmental awareness.

At 7:00 PM, designer Jonathan Díaz presented his brand Diazar (La Palma), where craftsmanship, tradition and sustainability converge. After seven consecutive years at Swim Week, this season Diazar introduces LAUREAE, a sensual ode to wild nature. Set in the Canarian laurel forest, the collection merges swimwear and prêt-à-porter through an artisanal and sustainable vision, using recycled leather, plant fibers and garments reminiscent of bark, vines and mist.

Making its debut at Gran Canaria Swim Week, Sevillian designer Susana Gómez presented her brand Gogana Swimwear, known for its simple, elegant style with an Andalusian touch. With ALMA DEL SUR, she pays tribute to the brand’s most iconic and successful designs—pieces that have defined her trajectory and captivated presenters, celebrities and loyal clients alike—bringing together elegance, personality and vibrant color.

Gran Canaria-based designer Elena Morales, committed to sustainability and slow fashion from her island studio, returned to the runway with her latest collection—a tribute to free spirit, natural harmony and the quiet luxury found in authenticity. Inspired by Huahine (French Polynesia), the collection invites us to be carried away by light textures and emotional storytelling.

To close the second day of runway shows at ExpoMeloneras, American brand GUESS unveiled its swimwear collection, celebrating sun, style and sophistication. Featuring bold silhouettes—from triangle bikinis and bandeau tops to sculpted one-piece swimsuits—the collection incorporates striking details such as shimmering lurex, crystal embellishments and shell-inspired elements.

Versatile pieces designed for life beyond the water—such as flowing sarongs, crochet cover-ups and kimonos—extend the collection beyond the beach. Rich, summery tones ranging from radiant corals and sunset pinks to turquoise blues and metallic accents evoke both warmth and elegance.

ExpoMeloneras: the epicenter of Gran Canaria Swim Week

ExpoMeloneras once again becomes the epicenter of swimwear fashion, transforming the runway shows into a true sensory spectacle. The high-gloss black runway, with a capacity for 600 spectators and measuring 36 meters long by 5 meters wide, shines under a carefully designed lighting setup, capable of bringing each collection to life and creating unique atmospheres.

The stage design is conceived as a choreographic experience, inviting the audience to experience fashion as a visual narrative. With dimensions of 19 meters wide and 7 meters deep, it evokes the grandeur of a theatre. Its 10-meter-high curtains open to reveal the secrets each designer holds until the peak moment of their creativity, allowing the audience to experience the magic of every presentation.

A large-format screen, measuring 7 meters high by 4 meters wide, tells the story behind each proposal, projecting visuals and effects that amplify the designers’ imagination and immerse the audience in a universe where fashion, innovation and storytelling intertwine. The stage comes alive with special effects—smoke, particles, lasers and more than 200 dynamic lights—enhancing every detail of the garments, every movement of the models and every emotion of the creators.

The Gran Canaria Swim Week Terrace will once again be open to the public, where attendees can enjoy the shows via live streaming. It will feature an exclusive gastronomic area, a lively chill-out space and a varied program of complementary activities, bringing the event closer to the audience in a unique and engaging way.
