Gran Canaria, October 24, 2025

The third day of Gran Canaria Swim Week began this Friday at the ExpoMeloneras fairgrounds, marked by a strong presence of international brands and with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada returning to the runway for yet another edition.

Among the most recognizable faces that gathered on the second day of shows, we found successful actors María Pedraza and Franco Masini, who were able to enjoy the proposals presented by the different brands. They were joined by content creators Paula Viana from The Backstage Talks and Marta Camín, and Canarian influencers Amalia Fajardo, Yaiza Mencia, Minerva Hers, Gema Betancor and Marta Ibrahim.

Third day of runway shows

The third day of runway shows was opened by the emerging brand, Mare Far Niente, which, inspired by the calm of the Mediterranean Sea and the philosophy of dolce far niente, celebrates everyday life and the authenticity of each body from an honest vision committed to local roots. In “Viaje a la Calma” (Journey to Calm), they present an ode to the beauty of patience inspired by the tranquility of the Mediterranean through its earth, sea, and sky tones.

Continuing with the talent of the island, designer Arantxa Arenas, characterized by her commitment to sustainability and responsibility toward the environment, revealed her proposal for summer 2026. In her new collection, “Diosas del Mar” (Goddesses of the Sea), she celebrates the strength, sensuality, and freedom of both women and men. Inspired by the book *Goddesses in Everywoman* by Jean Shinoda Bolen, Arenas pays tribute, through her designs, to the goddesses and gods of the Greek pantheon.

From the United Kingdom, Melissa Odabash, renowned for her timeless designs, impeccable tailoring, and flattering silhouettes, combines high fashion and functionality, offering bikinis, swimsuits, kaftans, and elegant accessories that exude effortless sophistication. The ‘Cruise 2026’ collection celebrates 25 years of iconic swimwear design, inspired by her childhood memories in St. Martin and the effortless glamour of 1970s resort style.

Carlotta Patrone founded Macaed five years ago in Miami after having trained in fashion design in the city. Her vision is born from the encounter between natural Italian elegance and the artisanal warmth of the Caribbean. Macaed dresses the man who dreams of the sun, the sea, and the freedom of always feeling light. Macaed's SS26 collection is an ode to the endless summer. Inspired by the poetry of Mediterranean tiles and the warm rhythm of the Caribbean, it celebrates freedom, light, and color. Ultra-light linen shirts and pants softly wrap the body, while swimwear made from recycled plastic reflects a commitment to the beauty of the Sea.

From the union of mother and daughter comes Bohodot, a Catalan brand that breathes a free and bohemian spirit, for those who dream of sunsets and paradisiacal beaches. Bohodot is a swimwear brand that creates feminine garments with exclusive designs and high-quality fabrics. For the Spring-Summer 2026 season, Bohodot unveils “Raíces del Sol” (Roots of the Sun), inspired by the Mediterranean refuge among olive trees, the sea, and bougainvilleas. Using earthy and soft tones, geometric prints, and sparkles, it evokes the sun and tradition.

The third day of runway shows continued with the proposal from American designer Dan Ward, who, after several years working as a commercial photographer, began his career in fashion, leading design and merchandising for global brands such as Hermès, Bally, and Calvin Klein. In 2013, he launched his eponymous men's resort wear brand, which expanded to women's wear in 2022. An accomplished athlete, Dan continues to compete in swimming, with over 45 national and European titles under his belt.

At 8:00 PM, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada returned to Gran Canaria Swim Week to present her new swimwear collection. In line with her universe of color, humor, and optimism, her icons, such as the Menina dress, will be reinterpreted in an aquatic key. The feminine designs will deploy a vibrant rainbow that will break down into unmistakable Agatha flowers and shades, while the masculine proposals will opt for sets of shorts and shirts decorated with petal appliques, ribbons, and recycled fabrics. The designer reaffirms her commitment to fun, conscious, and color-overflowing fashion, celebrating the unique energy of Gran Canaria as the perfect setting for international swimwear.

Concluding the penultimate day of Gran Canaria Swim Week, Gran Canarian designer Pedro Palmas, of the brand Palmas, renowned for his architectural influence and unique aesthetics, returned to the runway to unveil his new collection, ‘Zodiac’. Through it, Palmas pays tribute to the Polish astronomer Johannes Hevelius by reinterpreting the relationship of zodiac signs with their symbology and 3D representation. Through swimsuits, bikinis, and trikinis with innovative silhouettes, he combines the garments with pieces such as dresses, pants, and tops.
