The designer, Aurelia Gil, goes to `Paris Sur Mode´, the Paris Fashion Week, after exhibiting again in the Madrid GCMC showroom

2017-02-24

The designer Aurelia Gil, exhibits her autumn-winter collection at the Cabildo’s showroom in Madrid, which is exclusive to Gran Canaria Moda Cálida firms. In the same week she has been chosen to feature at one of the permanent events `Madrid es Moda´.

Minerva Alonso, Councillor for Industry of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, reported that the collection, `Paseando por Marrekech´ firmly establishes the showroom which was opened last year for the exhibition and sale of the designs from the Gran Canarian programme. It is exclusively used by one of the few prêt-a-porter autumn-winter designers working on the Island.

With her designs, Gil intends to capture the magic and craftsmanship of the Moroccan city through her feminine garments with a broad chromatic range, in which midnight blue, burgundy, lime, dark green and saffron tones prevail among other colours.

The floaty dresses in floral prints, wool, velvet, with embroidered and lace details, along with gold accessories and tiny embroidered mirrors evoke the mysteries of the city. They are inspired at the same time by the 70s and worn mainly as gala and evening wear.

Over recent days, Aurelia Gil has been the main figure at one of the permanent events `Madrid is Moda´. It is a city event promoted by the Association of Spanish Fashion Designers, whose main objective is to turn the Spanish capital into a showcase of creativity and design belonging to the well-known `Semana de la Moda Fashion Week´.

The collection Roma by the Gran Canarian designer, Aurelia Gil, has been chosen by the `Beni Room´ boutique in Madrid as the 2017 special spring-summer showcase. The designs are inspired by the Italian tailoring of the 60s with a certain touch of `folk´ from the 70s.

Aurelia Gil has taken advantage of this moment of prominence to announce she will be present at the `Paris Sur Mode´, the Semana de la Moda de Paris Fashion Week where she will exhibit her work alongside one hundred other collections for women selected for the event.
