Minerva Alonso, the Councillor for Commerce and Industry at the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, announces that Días Cálidas are underway in the Sala de Fedac in the centre of Triana, with five designers from Gran Canaria Moda Cálida offering discount prices on their garments.
The market, which began on Thursday, will be open until Saturday 13 January. The Councillor highlighted the excellent reception of the first edition, which was held last July, remarking that this event would help generate economic activity in the textile creation sector of Gran Canaria.
Días Cálidas is a temporary outlet at which garments can be purchased from Moda Cálida firms at lower prices, allowing the public to add unique garments to their wardrobes with discounts of up to 50%. These are very special prices for clothes that are often handmade and are original designs.
Five firms for adults and children
Visitors will be able to find a wide range of swimwear designs for men, women and children, apart from prêt-à-porter, garments for special occasions, bridal wear and accessories by the firms Arcadio Domínguez , Como la Trucha al Trucho, Chaxi Canarias, MiMenina and Nuria González, for both adults and children.
The market in the Sala de la Fedac, at Domingo J. Navarro 7, will remain open to the public from 10.30 am to 8 pm and on Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.
Arcadio Domínguez will be present at the shop with his unique ‘Arcadinas’, the nickname for the firm's signature print featuring a pair of ballet flats that have become the identity of the brand.
Amanda Gutiérrez and Adonais Sarmiento, the creators of Como la Trucha al Trucho, offer their original garments for men and women, which are casual and full of colour and feature stripes and checks to brighten them up.
Chaxi Canarias, which specialises in women's swimwear, offers bikinis with discounts of up to 40 per cent, a great opportunity to acquire garments to show off in summer.
Garments from the children's fashion collection 'Cuéntame un cuento' with large discounts make the MiMenina brand available to the public that want to focus on the smallest of the family with designs that are comfortable and original fashion.
Nuria González, one of the pioneers in the designing and manufacturing of swimwear on the Islands, offers bikinis and swimsuits, cotton t-shirts and skirts with African motifs, designs from her famous 'Néstor' collection and prêt-à-porter garments for all tastes.
