Chela Clo and La Rana stores are now displaying Gran Canaria Moda Cálida plaques to make them more visible to consumers

2018-03-13

The Councillor for Commerce and Industry, Minerva Alonso, explained today that, in order to make it easier to identify local fashion designers‘ shops,  Chela Clo and La Rana Rojo now display Gran Canaria Moda Cálida plaques.

Alonso mentioned that the reason for this is the Cabildo’s continuous commitment to promoting and opening local, national and international marketing channels for the firms which are part of the group. This commitment started almost three years ago now. The intention is to encourage local consumers by progressively placing these plaques at the different outlets.

In this way, the public will be aware that locally made fashion is sold there. This is the case of Chela Clo-Liquorice Funwear, by Jorge Toledo, a firm designing casual men's clothing, both swimwear and sportswear, as well as accessories. The firm’s shop is at 5 Calle Cano in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Likewise, since last Tuesday La Rana Roja has displayed a plaque to indicate that at 29 Calle Perdomo, you can find colourful garments for the whole family made by María José Bravo de Laguna. She has a range of children’s wear, prêt-a-porter for men and women along with accessories.

Alonso said she will be continuing with the placing of the plaques so that people walking along the street can clearly identify Gran Canaria Moda Cálida’s outlets, as in the case of the two companies that have displayed the logo from today and that joined the programme during this mandate. Added to this initiative are the labels on the garments.
