Fringes, pigtail and quiffs complement with designs of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida at Live Fashion Hair

Fringes, low pigtail, quiffs and wigs inside-out wigs were the perfect accessory that has last Saturday the designers of five brands of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida at Live Fashion Hair, an event that for the first time fused the hair trends with fashion and congregated in the Island more than 400 professionals of the sector and the most influential hairdressers of the world.



Hair artists Joel Torres, Chiala Marvici, Omar Antonio and Javier Romero, who came specifically from EEUU and Mexico, were responsible for inserting their cut and hairstyle exhibitions in the creations of Aday Batista, Lucas Balboa, Como la Trucha al Trucho, Lléo Beltho Couture on the spot in the fashion show.


Thus, the ten designs of Como la Trucha al Trucho went back to the sixties with its new autumn-winter collection ‘Chica ye-ye’, which incorporated fabrics like corduroy and velvet with fringes that covered the eyes that were marked by long false eyelashes and lips with a smeared effect.


In Lleó turn, it predominated the minimalism with whites, silvers and blues of its collection ‘Palazzo Lléo’ that were complemented with wet and combed-back hairs, that are well straight and stuck to the temples, to display three bridal dresses, and also evening dresses and jackets.


For its part, Beltho Couture took a trip to Venice with ‘Citta D’acqua’ to show garments of baroque style that was inspired in Venetian carnival with hairstyles of side-parted ponytails and smoked eye makeup to reproduce an eye mask effect, and bicolour black and golden lips.


The men’s designs of Lucas Balboa were marked by quiffs that were inspired in Elvis Presley and the fifties aesthetic. These were reinterpreted by the contemporary man with an appearance of an urban dandy and rebel boy.  The designer, thus, combined his colourful velvet, damask and brocade jackets with basketball T-shirts and sneakers.


Finally, Aday Batista presented ‘Texturas’, a combination of his two last collections with a more innovative and lawbreaker style for men and women that were combined with harnesses of Santi Carballo. The inside-out short black hair wigs where the hair nets were shown to give an extravagance effect stood out on his models.


Councillor of Industry and Commerce Minerva Alonso detailed that the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and The Code Team company organized this unique meeting in the world in the Edificio Miller to display the Grancanarian fashion among with the international hairdresser proposals, and also to promote the Island as a paradise and a unique place to live experiences.


It was the first time that the Island embraced that event that this year gathered professionals of the hair industry that arrived from all the Islands, the rest of Spain and countries such as Costa Rica, Iran, Morocco, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, among others, to learn from the best experts in the world the most innovative techniques.


The final touch, the demonstrations of the TCT Awards’ winners.


Live Fashion Hair ended up with the five hairdressers with most universal recognition of the last edition of TCT Awards in different categories. They also performed live demonstrations to present their next year collections.


The Russian Pavel Okhapkin, the British John Spanton, the French Eric Maurice and the Spanish David Siero, among with the Australian Kobi Bokshish, global hairdresser of the year, were responsible for presenting proposals that follow individual styles to demonstrate the authentic range of hairdresser, that shows the exterior transformation but also the interior one.


Definitely, Live Fashion Hair transformed Gran Canaria into a global showcase to display cuts, hairstyles and colours like blue, red and pink that will mark the trends of the following months.
