Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and Isla Bonita Moda put the final touch to the successful Fashion Show of Bridal Collection

2018-09-30

The  nuptial, ceremony and prêt-à-porter designs of ten brands of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and Isla Bonita Moda made a trip to bring inspiration from other times and cities, along with La Palma landscapes and, thus, putting the final touch to a successful fashion show of the Gran Canaria Bridal Collection.

Vidina Romero, one of the new talents of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, presented her first collection in the fashion show. Its debut showed, with her collection ‘Sweet Night’, designs for original and cheerful women with a retro, underground and sport-chic style that is mixed with an elegant touch like Beverly Hills girls. It was a wide range of garments with a casual and cheerful style.

Lléo, another new talent, brought to the Salón Dorado of the Gabinete Literario ‘Pallazo Lléo’, a collection that was inspired in the nineties where the minimalism predominated and intertwined with the African tribe concepts, such as big cloths to wrap them with.

On his creations, black and white colours highlighted, along with blue, green and pink, and also the flounces, the velvet bodysuits or with crossed bands on the back. He introduced the Canarian knit lace (calado canario) in his garments as well.

In Isla Bonita Moda’s turn, Waleska Morín was inspired by Stella, the clean and starry sky of La Palma. A feminine and sophisticated collection in which predominated tulles, embroideries, sequins and sateen.

Jackets and trousers joined midi skirts and long dresses with colours like red and yellow, along with purple, blue and grey. It also showed silver and golden garments that contrasted with white and black.

For its part, GM was inspired by the Salinas de Fuencaliente  for its collection. Most of the designs were in white and blue, and three-quarter or puff sleeve garments, along with trousers, tunics, and capes for women.

His designs were also inspired in a casual elegant and cheerful man, who likes wearing straight lines and volumes, along with floral touches.

The Pamoline brand, however, bet with ‘Romance’ on a prêt-à-porter collection with a rural style in its bridal and ceremony models. The nuptial dress that was made by artisans showed off typical embroidery from La Palma, while the groom wore linen trousers, light cotton shirt and waistcoat of rag fabric that the spinners of El Paso made.

For the wedding guests, they opted for light and natural fabrics, with prints and superpositions to give more volume. The designer also made a wink to nature with some shoes for the bride with wooden heels made in the form of ‘tuno’ or pick fig and lined with rag fabric.

Diazar closed the Isla Bonita Moda fashion show with ‘Les Nuit de Bohème’, that was inspired by the Paris of the mid-19th century, a historical period of change in which the voice of women began to be heard. Her garments, therefore, stood out for their Parisian bohemian spirit and for reflecting the clothing of the more affluent classes of that time, adapted to the present day, for both men and women.

Its proposals showcased combinations of plain fabrics and embroidery with rhinestones, as well as gauzes and silks for a dynamic and modern woman.

After the four brands of Isla Bonita Moda, two new talents took over the catwalk of Gran Canaria Bridal Collection. Aday Batista was inspired by the song ‘Quizás, Quizás, Quizás’ for his creations with steaming georgette garments mixed with fabrics such as jacquard and imitation suede.

This designer opted for steamy dresses that are already a hallmark of the brand, in addition to large coats and suits of jacket and pants for men. Their suggestions were complemented by Santi Carballo's bags, also part of the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program.

For its part, Beltho Couture, another new talent, was inspired by the city of Venice to create ‘Citta D'acqua’. This collection features the freshest styles to capture the landscape of the Italian city in which green and white tones predominate, and a more sober one at night that reminds us of nightlife and its particular carnival and in which blue stands out.

In his proposals he also took into account the Renaissance style and used damask, a type of jacquard popularized by the Italian ladies of that time. The models also wore on the catwalk transparencies in sleeves and skirts for them and three-piece suits or crossed jackets for them.

Lucas Balboa and Aurelia Gil close the fashion show

Later it was the turn of the designer of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida Lucas Balboa to present 'He Was Beautiful', a collection for men in which he showed a meticulous tailoring with three-piece suits and crosses, dinner suits with embroideries and applications, as well as jackets with colored notes designed for the groom and guests.

With this collection, Balboa wanted to claim that the man can also have the leading role in weddings and opted for natural silk fabrics, silk damasks, brocades and French velvet in sober colors such as black, grey and blue, with bright color prints.

Aurelia Gil, one of the historic brands of the Cabildo program, put the final touch to the fashion show with 2019 Bridal Collection, a proposal that fused the most romantic essence of the bride with a more modern style. That is why she presented dresses and two-piece designs for a comfortable bride, with light fabrics and embroidered and lace applications.

Silks, gauzes, plumetis and embroidered tulle took centre stage in his creations, which were characterised by natural, raw and pink tones. His collection was completed with superimposed kimonos, gown dresses, lace skirts and Japanese sleeves to give it a vintage style and was complemented by the men's creations of the Roes brand.

Gil thus closed a successful Gran Canaria Bridal Collection, which for three days showed the bridal, ceremony and communion creations of 17 signatures. Juan Roga inaugurated the parades on Thursday, while Culito From Spain, Oswaldo Machín and Palmas exhibited their creations on Friday. El Corte Inglés, It Child and MiMenina exhibited children's clothing on Saturday morning. In short, Councillor of Industry and Commerce Minerva Alonso recalled that a catwalk was designed to show the public the talent of the Canary Islands and to opt for their designs.
