Gran Canaria Moda Cálida del Cabildo participated for the first time in 1001 Bodas, a reference fair in Spain held in Madrid in which the designer Pedro Palmas presented the 'Berlin 2020' collection of wedding and ceremony fashion.
This event held at Ifema this weekend was a great showcase of ideas open to the public in which couples planning to get married discovered the latest trends in bridal fashion design, guests, beauty, catering, travel, jewellery and associated themes.
And that is why the fashion program of the Cabildo wanted to be present with a stand to show the proposals of Palmas, who also presented their designs in a parade to introduce their brand in the national and international market.
The ceremony fashion sector in Gran Canaria has a significant business potential and the companies adhering to Gran Canaria Moda Cálida are in a position to start expanding their products, which is why their presence at national and international fairs is essential for promotion abroad, stressed the counsellor for Industry and Trade, Minerva Alonso.
A collection with a cinematographic touch
The inspiration that characterizes this new collection by Pedro Palmas comes from male tailors for ceremonies, with lines that have a certain cinematic air. Marlene Dietrich and her singular femininity have inspired the designer, both in the cut of the garments and in the choice of their colours, as well as introducing silhouettes and her concept of 'lady' into the dress, very characteristic of the Monegasque princess Carlota Casiraghi.
As for the fabrics used by Palmas for 'Berlin 2020', the silk mikados for brides, the cotton guipures for tailoring in civil brides, gold and tulle laces, as well as the crepes in gauze and satin for guests stand out.
As to the main colours, the spectacular reds stood out along with the subtle greys, which shared the spotlight with the exquisite manufacture of palazzo trousers, cut skirts and tops characteristic of the firm.
