Agatha Ruiz de La Prada fashion show at Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida 2020
2020-10-24
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada (Madrid, 1960) studied at the Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda in Barcelona. At the age of 20 she began working as an assistant in the Madrid studio of couturier Pepe Rubio. A year later she presented her first collection at the LOCAL design center in Madrid. Since then Agatha has paraded and has been guest of honor and representative of Spanish fashion on the main catwalks of the world. The designer's creations have become a true means of artistic expression and since her early years in the fashion world she began to exhibit some masterpieces in galleries and museums in different cities in Europe, America and Asia.
I am happy to parade this year in Moda Cálida, because I consider very brave the decision of the organization to go ahead in such a complicated time. It is a heroic gesture that is greatly appreciated, an impulse towards optimism, towards life and its celebration. Fashion continues because our fantasies continue. In fact this collection is highly fantastical, it is an escape to another dimension very different from the one we are living, it is a dream of beach, party, sun and color. Perhaps it is not my most 'wearable' collection, that is not its intention. Someday the time will come when I will parade a very commercial collection in Moda Cálida, but that day has not yet come...
