The Gran Canarian designer Aurelia Gil, who recently appeared for the first time on the official calendar of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week catwalk, has just joined ACME as an associate firm along with Javier Delafuente and Maison Mesa, with whom she represents the values of slow fashion, “creator fashion brands that are firmly committed to local labor, the transformation of crafts and the enhancement of the sewing professions,” according to the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain itself, which with these three new incorporations exceed 80 associates.
Aurelia Gil, a designer affiliated with the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program of the Cabildo, has a twenty-year career in the world of fashion. Tradition, passion and innovation define the work of this creator trained in Fine Arts, who has focused her efforts on the recovery of the artisanal crafts of sewing. From her atelier in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria she creates swimwear and ready-to-wear collections, as well as her custom designs. In addition, for a year now she has had her own swimwear workshop that serves other brands. "For me, being part of ACME is taking a business leap: going from being a local brand to being a national brand and being part of the fashion fabric of this country," declares Aurelia Gil, who recently presented her “365” collection. a declaration of intent based on concepts such as sustainability and diversity, expressed through swimwear, clothing for events and a series of basics that include shirts, trench coats and bombers; a tribute to their land through pieces made with the technique of openwork, wood and leather shoes and bags made from banana fiber.

In addition to Aurelia Gil, this time Javier Delafuente has also joined, a designer from Antequera trained at the Higher Center for Fashion Design in Madrid, specialized in leather at Loewe and who worked for different brands such as Roberto Verino or El Corte Inglés before found her own firm and open a small studio from which she develops four fashion lines that combine tradition and modernity, highlighting her custom sewing work; and finally Juan Carlos Mesa, who has 30 years of experience in fashion design and styling, who has worked as a creative for important brands such as Ángel Schlesser, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada or Jesús del Pozo before founding Maison in 2017.
