Nuria González
Nuria González is a benchmark in swimwear made in Canarias and specifically from the brand Gran Canaria Moda Cálida of which she has been a part since the beginning in 1996.
She of self-taught training, to which she adds the realization of numerous specialization courses including: corsetry and swimwear pattern, industrial pattern, with teachers like Roger Frank Desmond.
There is another characteristic that defines it and differentiates it from the rest of the bathroom made in the Canary Islands and is the constant local inspiration from the observation of nature (flora and fauna autochthonous) or the urban landscape connected to the sea, reinterpreted, universalizing it and making it the stamping motif of lycras and tulles.
Painting has been another of her stamping themes. Up to now she has carried the lycra work of Canarian painters: Néstor Martín, Gabriel Ortuño and what has been one of their collections most successful of her made with monotypes of her mother Maria del Pino Santana.
Each annual parade arouses enormous anticipation for its original treatise of the stamping or its daring and innovative scene.
At the same time, the NURIA González brand has created and made uniforms and clothing for advertising campaigns or company events in various market sectors, television, film, theater, dance, synchronized swimming and changing rooms for the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Throughout his career, his collections have been presented in different national and international fashion fairs such as Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, International Week de la Moda en Madrid (SIMM), Lyon Mode City Interfilerie and with presence also in numerous magazines of the sector.
Of her work, it is worth highlighting the elaboration of her own prints that characterize the Nuria González brand and the dedication personalized from her workshop to each client who demands her designs from her.
Since December 2010 she has expanded the workshop on the street Cebrian, 27 with a store, where she offers her clothing collections bathroom and fashion accessories all accompanied by a treatment personalized and tailored to her clientele.
In the last edition of the Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, she won the award for the Best Sustainable Collection 2022.
